Yeah... I would reckon you take a look at the Kitty Pryde route just for context as opposed to just going turbo on an entirely new Onslaught figure all together, all day... but I feel the newer version is probably a better fit for most collectors that didn't scour two BAF waves to make one BAF feel right. And I'm not complaining... just making a statement. I don't believe that many collectors would skip on the upcoming Onslaught figure over a head sculpt that comes with a figure considered to be a Marvel Legends grail... and probably because of said head sculpt, for that matter. I could be wrong, of course, but I think that the upcoming Onslaught will be a nice upgrade over the previously released BAF with or without the head sculpt included with the aforementioned Kitty Pryde figure and we already know that it's sorted out proper. Truth told... I wouldn't give two squirts about the upcoming Onslaught if the character had not popped up in the Spider-Man villain ComicVine list I've been trying to amass... the Red Skull head sculpt on the BAF Onslaught just seems a redundancy that can be solved for my collection tendencies and grabbing another villain is always a good thing for me. :)

There is very little that’s substantially different on this upcoming Onslaught release. I have no idea what aftermarket prices are on the old kitty with the onslaught head, so I can’t speak to the “value” of having both red skull and onslaught head options. However, if you already have the Red Onslaught and just never got the Kitty head, and that’s what you want, then maybe go ahead and sell your red skull onslaught on eBay and get the new Onslaught. A lot of folks don’t like how unpainted and plastic it looks, but I think they both fit the comic aesthetic just fine.

Do you think that grabbing this Kitty Pryde figure or just the BAF piece is a better option than scoring the upcoming Onslaught release? I don't think so but, money and update-wise? Now, I realize that having the two different BAF pieces may have some more value, sentimental or otherwise, but I think the newer one covers more bases and I'm having a hard time trying to reckon... I don't really need either but I think I'd rather the updated version.

I thought about that, too, @Huntaur. It's a money move, of course. The bright side is at least they're targeting actual collectors. Bad news is that scalpers eat this kind of thing right up.

There was quite a bit of outcry when the Red Onslaught wave came out that we weren’t getting a traditional onslaught head. I don’t know if this was exactly the devious plan all along but at least we eventually got the head. Much in the same way we got the Shadow King head for the Kingpin BAF eventually.

After actually doing a little bit of research I have determined that Hasbro packaged the Onslaught head with Kitty Pryde because "Why the heck not? Let's cross ref two different BAF waves just to f#<k with our customers! All the way to the bank!"

I know it was meant as an alternative head sculpt for the Red Onslaught BAF but there's got to be a reason why it was packed with Kitty Pride... which is considered a grail figure probably for that reason alone.

Could a fellow collector please tell me WHY the Onslaught head was packaged with this figure? I'm too lazy right now to do the research but I'm curious enough for the short story.
