Captain America vs. Venom Comments

The only set I wanted from the lot and even though I was skeptical on acquiring yet another unnecessary Cap, I'm glad I caved as both figures are great. I'm a little miffed that I wasn't patient enough because this set was available at Walmart tonight and I could have sidestepped shipping costs but... oh well. This is our hobby and it's pretty much always a roll of the dice when it comes getting the better price.

This was one of my more anticipated 2 packs in the wave. (I of course liked Juggernaut and Shuma Gorath aka Gargantos). But I've always liked Cap and Venom. And I especially have always liked Blue Venom. Not just for his appearance in MvC. But also in the Spider-man 2000 game on PS1/PC. "Surf the Web!"&nbsp;<br><br>He is a repaint and all, but I like the head and the deco is clean! I don't even mind that he has pinned joints though pinless would have been nice.&nbsp;<br><br>Cap is excellent and in contention for the best Cap figure that Hasbro has produced. There have been other great Cap figures people hold in high regard. 20th anniversary Cap, Ultimate Cap, and most recently Secret Wars. Secret Wars Cap would be my pick if not for the broken shield. I know it's a story thing. But Cap just feels kind of naked without his shield.&nbsp;<br><br>We get a Cap with a skin tight suit look as opposed to scale mail. And he comes with a shield and effect. I do wish they had given this Cap the kind of Torso that they gave Wolverine.&nbsp;

Got if for like $46 at target using their circle discounts. Definitely made it the deciding factor.&nbsp;

I never played any of the MvC games so I don't really have any real connection with this iteration of Venom but I think it looks great and the set as a whole is more than solid. I think the blue coloring is an homage to the limitations of games at the time and I truly dig that as a niche choice. I'm curious to see how that may snowball over the upcoming years.

Yeah…the Venom figure is really nice. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the blue, but once I had him in hand he looks awesome. Nice, large imposing figure. And the Cap figure is awesome. I have him, Secret Wars, Secret Empire, and Ultimate and he looks the best out of the three. He doesn’t have the chainmail, but he’s a bit bigger than the others and the smooth costume is great. His shield could be a bit bigger, but I guess they had to go with a smaller one due to the charging star accessory.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Anywho, TLDR: they are both sweet and you won't regret getting them.&nbsp;</div>

I only wanted the wolverine/silver samurai set but now im considering this cause I need a venom and so far everyone is praising it. My secret wars captain america may be sold or traded if I do.&nbsp;

In a strange twist, Amazon came through and delivered this a day early. I’m real glad I decided to pick this one up. The Cap and Venom are both really nice. I picked it up mainly to get a Venom but the Cap is super nice too. I’m digging the blue Venom and I appreciate how they redid the logo on the back so the butterflies don’t break it up.&nbsp;

Looking forward to the pics man! I just snagged it myself as I really want a Legends Venom in my collection and this is my first chance for one since I started collecting earlier this year. Bummer he’s blue but it’s cool! I’m a huge fan of MvC as a game series so I can roll with it. I’m really looking forward to the Cap figure too as he’s one of my favorite characters and I’ve been slowly amassing an army of Steves.&nbsp;

You should hopefully get it that day! Amazon just let me place an order for it with delivery on Sunday.&nbsp;

I hope you get it soon. I'm very happy with this set and the Cap figure is a great bonus as I was in it strictly for Venom and I think Cap may work well for a display idea with Venomized Cap in the mix. Stay tuned...

I haven't received an official notice, however, among my pre-orders on Amazon, it says it will arrive by Sunday. I like the Venom, but I am looking forward to that Cap.

Got it. Photos do not do this set justice. The packaging is awesome, too. Glad I caved because this may very well be the best Cap figure in my collection.

The shipping date on Amazon just jumped up a month so that could be a good sign. The shipping date on my Maximum Hulk preorder changed like 3 times in the week before I got it.&nbsp;

Yeah, this is only set of the lot that I was looking to get and simply for Venom but I do like the Cap. Amazon typically gets them out on or near the projected release date in my experience.

I am really looking forward to this one and aside from the Psylocke vs Thanos pack, this is the one I was looking forward to the most. I love Cap and I don’t have a Venom yet. I wonder when the Amazon pre-orders will ship.&nbsp;
