I got this guy for Father’s Day and he’s pretty cool. The wing accessories are alright but the red wing accessory is really cool. My only hang up is it would be nice if they could work some articulation in to the wings. But overall, as a fan of the Falcon, it’s nice to have one in my collection. Wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a comic version of Sam as Cap too.

I prefer the modern retro card version but this is pretty bad ass especially because of red wing. I'm probably going to pick him up just for Redwing lol

I have to say that this is a great-looking Falcon figure... it just doesn't mesh well with my current collection tendencies so I whiffed on multiple occasions. I may regret said whiffs but the fact that it's the only figure of the wave hanging around says an awful lot but I think it's unwarranted and could very well become a highly sought out Falcon representation over the course of time. It has certainly happened before and the evidence is pretty overwhelming. Choose well, fellow collectors... and I know there are several Falcon options available.

I had a few of them, but I agree, that some of the figures released back then were pretty bizarre choices

I have to say - and this is just one man’s perspective. I’m sure there are folks who really do resonate with nostalgia with these Secret Wars waves. But for me, these figures came out as I was getting into high school - my thoughts and priorities had wildly diversified by then. But, even in the moment back then in the early 80s, I really was underwhelmed by nearly all of them. I remember saying to a friend - who wants a Doctor Doom or Magneto figure with no cloak? Who cares about those lenticular shields? At the end of the day, I’m happy that there are folks who were made happy by those 80s figures, but to me they were just…ass.

I’ve bought a couple of the newer releases under this banner - Titania, the newest Magik - but they weren’t figures released back then. They’re not tainted by the memories I have of those releases being lame. I’m glad people are enjoying these for the most part now, and Lord knows the overall quality of Marvel figures has improved by orders of magnitude since back then. All this to say that if I had to guess which of these would be a lil warmer, I don’t know that I would have guessed Sam.

It's not that I don't like it, I'm just perfectly happy with my retro card version

So far, this Falcon figure has been the pegwarmer of the wave.

So, this one is complicated. I'm complaining so much about this wave, but honestly? I think it's warranted. Questionable deco on DD, Absorbing Man without anything to absorb, and now here's Falcon. Again, it's not that any of these figures, like the one in question here, are bad figures. They're not. But each one has some type of nitpick I've got that just really hinders their scores for me. Falcon LOOKS great. It's when you get into posing him, particularly with the wings, that this figure becomes a complete headache. The engineering on the wings is...well, did they not try to fidget with him first? Because had they, there's no way this would have been made the way it came out. Those wings are practically impossible to get to look good, and when you do, they barely stay on...if they stay on at all. It makes posing this figure extremely frustrating, and, honestly, that's not exactly what I'd want to hear in an action figure review. Some positivity here; it's nice to finally have a classic Falcon. It's been a long time coming. But those wings are unbelievably annoying. So much so, I can't help but think there had to be a better way.

Not on my radar but this may very well end up being the definitive Marvel Legends Falcon.
