I was spamming on this at noon and managed to snag one so I was pretty excited! The $40 didn’t bug me too much bc I feel like it’s just as big as recent $40 offerings, like Strong Guy or Onslaught. But I do agree with the criticisms of him being too smooth, still I definitely wanted to get one for my 97 animated dioramas. <div><br></div><div>When they did the video introducing the figure they mentioned that they “didn’t want to just release the previous version” and thought fans deserved an updated figure. That’s bizarre logic to me. I cannot fathom why they won’t just re-release the lab coat Beast. Like… I don’t understand the incentive to let scalpers and secondhand sellers make all the money off that item.</div><div><br></div><div>But at the end of the day, this definitely looks like Beast when I conjure him in my mind and I’m glad it exists instead of some other form or one with some random costume (Like Jubilee 97).</div>

Also, the fact that no pics were shown with this Beast being able to balance on one hand should make collectors that already have the Caliban BAF Beast think twice. :)

I feel the same. I was tempted because the only Beast I have is Dark Beast, but I saw the price tag and decided against it.

Looks great but an easy pass for me on multiple levels. I hope everyone that wants this gets it.

Looks nice, but the cartoon aesthetic isn't really for me. Hopefully the comic version gets reissued soon.

It's almost like a scaled down mondo figure. But for the price I'll wait.

Looks like Hasbro should’ve gone for Maximum series pricing. Sold out at Pulse as well.

And I am apparently alone in that sentiment, as all 4 sites listed at Marvelous News sold out of preorders within 2 hours or less.

$39.99?!! Well, hard pass then. Not looking forward to the next comic version of beast being $59.99. Good gravy, Hasbro. If you’re starting to price individual figures based on aftermarket value as opposed to cost of production, then bully for you, I guess.
