In a post apocalyptic future Morlun, the multiverse spider killer, is kidnapped by knull , the god of symbiotes, after killing a version of him from another universe. In a last ditch effort to keep his life, Morlun pitches Knull a plan to enslave and destroy earth one and for all. In this plan They would team up with Gorr the god butcher. Together they would build a bomb capable of killing anyone from regular humans to the strongest gods. It would unleash a deadly symbiote that releases a gas that kills on contact.
Now, the bomb was released nearly 20 years ago and there are less than 20,000 people left. Only 12 heroes left. A middle aged Peter Parker wearing the black suit to protect him. Miles morales, Peter’s now 25 year old protege. The hulk, now merged with Bruce banner has turned gray from overexposure to gamma. Deathlok, A man in a robot suit whose face has decomposed with him alive. Wade Wilson and an elderly Wolverine who walk the earth together rescuing survivors. Venom, one of Knulls own creations. Blade, a vampire hunter who hunts to survive. Mike Murdock Jr, the son of Daredevil who takes on his dad’s hero persona after his death. Dr. Strange, a magical surgeon with crazy feats. Steve rogers, now wearing the civil warrior armor in honor of Tony stark, He is dying from slowly being poisoned by his super soldier serum.
Knull, Gorr, and Gorr now reside in a castle surrounded by symbiotes. The humans they find are enslaved or killed. One day while walking through the symbiote wasteland, Logan and wade come across the castle. They call together The Last Avengers to settle the battle one and for all. The 12 work together to kill the symbiotes surrounding the castle and storm inside.
Knull goes for the spidermen quickly. Peter is rage full after returning to the symbiote once Mary Jane dies. Miles does what he can to keep him under control but has to much respect for Peter to stop him. After a long fight, Miles uses his lightning on knull allowing Peter to kill him with one solid punch.
Blade, Deadpool, Logan, Thor, and captain America fight Gorr. They all blast him with punches, weapons, and powers. Gorr loads back his sword and stabs Thor through the chest. He taunts him as he falls over and dies. Steve, filled with rage, uses all the energy he has left to blast Gorr with a crazy arc reactor blast. Killing him. Captain America falls to his knees breathing heavily. He says it was an honor to protect and serve. He falls back and dies after living nearly 200 years.
Hulk, daredevil, venom, dr. Strange, and deathlok fight knull. Deathlok unloads round after round of his machine gun into knull but he doesn’t flinch. Daredevil is choke slammed, killing him. Hulk flies punches over and over to no avail. Dr. Strange asks venom if he knows any of knulls weaknesses, giving him an idea. Dr. Strange sets off bunches of explosions to blind knull and venom bites his head off. With knull dead, all the symbiotes die throughout the planet. Including venom.
The heroes stand in a circle around Steve Rogers and reap all they have lost. They have nothing. Today they have lost friends, family, mentors, lovers, and everything in between. Everything around them now is nothing more than a desert wasteland without all of Symbiotes. Hulk proposes a plan. What if Dr. Strange could restart the clock on the world. Clear the board. Start again. Everything would be completely different. But it would be a hell of a lot better than this. The heroes look at their friends, one more time before a blast of white energy appears.
