Mr. Freeze was, hands down, one of the greatest standout roles from BTAS. "Heart of Ice" changed the character forever, going from the generic cold-themed villain in the comics to now a deeply identifiable and sympathetically tragic foil. And you can't fix what ain't broken. Yet here it is...they tried it anyway.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>The problem here isn't that the redesign is bad, unlike some; it's just not better. It's cool, no pun intended, but like with so many of the refreshed looks, it's almost minimalist. There's not much to it. You're working with three base colors, dominantly two, and I've never been crazy about the wacky hijinks gimmick of the spider-legs head. The concept of all but his head being destroyed due to the cryogenics is indeed interesting here, but it's pretty obvious that the only reason for why it was done was just to make him more toyetic. Nothing of substance was ever done with the idea; it boils down to just "Look...he's a head with spider legs now! Isn't it cool?" No. It's silly...</div><div><br></div><div>As for the figure, it's just a dated reissue, but it's a solid enough figure if you approach it from one of two directions: 1. Representing a beloved series...even if it's the lower points of that beloved series. 2. View it as a statue. None of these are particularly articulated, but the articulation that is there is nicer than none at all.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
