The Human Torch

As much as it would be easier to state that Hasbro/Walgreen's missed a golden opportunity to do a flame-off Johnny during their Fantastic Four... never mind because they certainly DID. But this particular Human Torch figure still works even without the alternative version. But I wonder if this run has a shot at getting a revisit in the near future with all that has transpired since said run ended..

This one also has sentimental value to me. After scouring several Walgreen's stores for a few weeks, I drew a blank. Then my brother casually walks into his local store and scores it for me. 😃

I definitely prefer this one. I know they’re both translucent, but this one has more opacity to the plastic so you don’t clearly see the inner workings of the figure as much, while still being able to light the figure well in the display. The new MCU human torch looks to have more transparency in the translucent plastic, and that’s just not a look I like as much.

I have to concede that the newly announced Human Torch looks better than this one. That being said, it's not enough for me to take the bait. I've been going back and forth with whether I want to offload my Walgreen's exclusive FF lot and I've ultimately decided to keep them. But I also have to state that I think that the upcoming Human Torch may very well be the best "flame on" version that Marvel Legends has put out. Looks like it can work with any FF team past, present or future. Be mindful, fellow collectors, as this may end up being a grail of some sort.
