I just realized that this Ryu looks more like Ryu from Street Fighter 3 than from Ultra 2. It's almost a combination of the two, with the colors from part 3, but the style of Ultra 2. And I can't tell if the sprite for Ultra 2 has it, but 3 has the ripped pants legs too. <img src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/M5BtPbyOzN4/hq720.jpg?sqp=-oaymwEhCK4FEIIDSFryq4qpAxMIARUAAAAAGAElAADIQj0AgKJD&rs=AOn4CLBvMxLwAcIHxdOBKgKGgNqClH1G-Q" alt="Evolution of Ryu Sprites (Street Fighter 1-3) - YouTube">

While there is art out there with him in this configuration, this is still inaccurate to the art they use on the box. He does have red gloves on a lot of his art, but his hair is still brown in most images. And you've gotta admit, while his skin might be sometimes darker, his skin on this figure is still way too orange. And it's weird that he seems to be one of the only ones that's weirdly inaccurate, the rest of Jada's line up looks fantastic. It's still a solid Ryu, I just don't get why they wouldn't try and match the art on the front of the box or the sprite.

Capcom has gone back and forth on the Red/Brown gloves, the shade of his skin, and the Brown/Black hair over the decades of Ryu showing up in games. Whether it was a Capcom mandate or not, it’s still a solid representation of classic Ryu. Shouldn’t be too much bother to repaint to your liking unless you were planning to keep him mint in box.

I also don't understand why they gave him black hair, even though he has brown hair on the art and sprite. I've heard that Capcom sometimes will make executive decisions on how a character has to be portrayed, so maybe it's that. This figure suffered the most from it if that's the case.

Why did they give him red gloves and orange skin? They did the skin tone a lot better on the player two, so what happened here? I can't find any art where his gloves were red for Ultra 2 either, so where did this come from? It's still a great figure, I just don't understand some of the design choices.
