I think a smart thought on Hasbro's part to put out a Maximum Hulk as one of the inaugurals as it could very well be the end-all for many collections. I'm good on Hulk figures personally but this would have been a must have had that not been the case. Time will tell, of course.

I know this figure has been divisive in the community. I understand criticisms with regards to aesthetic. They tried giving us three different heads and I appreciate that. But some would have preferred a specific style.

I think the Maximum series has had a perception problem. A lot of people had their expectations set by Maximum Spider-man. And I can't fault them. I feel like just because Spidey had all new tooling/articulation, etc? I think people expected that of the others in the line. And I feel that stems from miscommunication on the part of the Legends team.

For my part personally? I have viewed Maximum as Hasbro's answer or response to import figures. And in that respect I feel Maximum does fit that. This Hulk figure in particular was criticized for reuse. Again I can't say I blame Hulk fans who don't tend to get new Hulk figures often compared to Spidey, etc. However, I also feel like the reuse was somewhat justified in terms of the legs. It was probably a measure to keep the cost down and within that $50-$60 price range. We are talking about a hunk of plastic. Bigger in size, more weight to ship, etc. In terms of accessories i feel what he comes with is fine though I feel they could have thrown in the ripped shirt overlay from the 80th Hulk.

He was advertised on the back of being able to Thunderclap. And yes the figure can do that...but those effects can be tedious. However, you can also use those swoosh effects with the new Gamerverse Juggernaut. The Smash/clap effect as well probably. The thunderclap is made possible by that soft rubber overlay. I appreciate they tried something new. However, I think after having Juggernaut? They could have just done a butterfly and people would have been fine with the cuts into the chest. And a lot of the concerns folks had (Myself included) are kind of coming to pass. That rubber overlay is fragile. Shartimus had his tear after having left it posed in a certain pose for an extended period of time. If you have to be afraid of posing your figure due to potential damage? Well that's kind of counter to the idea of an 'action' figure? If you have to just static pose them on a shelf to avoid damage it kind of takes away some of the fun of posing them.

I want everyone here to imagine being offended....by action figure reviews...on an action figure site. Just imagine that for a minute. What a loser...

Happy with my 80th Anniversary version and the Wolvie that came with it. My collection tendencies have whittled down extensively and I just don't feel the need for another Hulk, currently. But for fellow collectors, I think this is a great option especially if one didn't have a Hulk on hand already.
