I just realized that out of all the Spider-Man TAS two-pack sets released, this is the only one I have.  Some Spider-Man fan I am... :)

I was lucky to grab it upon release along with all the other vhs sets.

Because of a shipping error caused by Pulse switching to an inferior shipping company I have two of these sets.

It was originally Pulse Exclusive. And Pulse Exclusives seem to tend to be low quantity manufactured at first release. If this didn’t sell out in a heartbeat, Hasbro probably isn’t keen to do a second round, so the secondary market gets to scalp scalp scalp.

How did this set's value increase so much so quickly?

Definitely one of the best 2 packs we’ve gotten. Would have liked some blast effects for Alistair

I was very late to the party when it comes to Spider-Man TAS as I caught the show two years ago and am glad that I did. This set was a no-brainer for me because it gave me my only full-fledged Peter Parker figure and Smythe helped me to cross off another character from the List of Spider-Man Villains Wikipedia page leaving only Chameleon remaining. I hope they get around to doing Spencer Smythe someday but I'm happy with just Alistair for now.
