I'm just looking to score as many Spider-Man villains as possible and the hope is that, over the course of certain figures getting released, the tooling becomes available to make it easier.

Grizzly is one of those roles that I feel somewhat guilty for laughing at. If he were real, I'd imagine he'd be quite imposing. He never gained popularity, but realistically, is he any more ridiculous than a man dressed in a rhino suit?? And that's really what it boils down to. Grizzly is effectively Rhino, but with a different animal gimmick and a dash of Scorpion's motivation. When you contemplate it, I'd argue a grizzly bear is far more terrifying than a rhinoceros. I mean, hell, have you seen The Revenant? Or are you familiar with Timothy Treadwell, the Bear Man that lived with wild Alaskan grizzly bears? ... Needless to say, they ruined more than just his picnic. The concept works...in theory. But when you depict a man in a bear suit, the problem arises in execution. Suddenly it evokes imagery of lovable cartoon characters like Yogi and Winnie the Pooh or friendly and adorable circus acts. The moment you assign a bear humanoid characteristics, your brain immediately goes to mascot-like comedic or cutesy roles. Thus, despite bears being horrifyingly intimidating and insanely dangerous in reality, bear suits are often considered humorous, the last thing any up-and-coming supervillain wants. Salt in the wound is always there when the intent isn't to come off goofy, but you do regardless, it just makes it all the funnier. That's how Grizzly's reputation develops, although he should be quite intimidating and a viable threat, but he just doesn't especially come across that way. So the poor guy has been forever relegated to the failed character list. However, I have a fondness for him.

Well, there been quite a few "ask and you shall receive " instances that have occurred since I've been on Legendsverse so we may as well keep asking...

Hell yeah, man! I've said it before and will again until we get them...but there's a ton that are easy to make using existing parts without sacrificing accuracy. <div><br></div><div>In fact, sometimes I feel like maybe, just maybe, I helped influence this Grizzly to get made. Of course, that's just my ego talking...but I did, coincidentally, say for years that they should just use the Ursa Major body with a new head. Cut to today; bingo, there you go. So if someone from Hasbro is spying on my posts, which... No, I don't really believe that, I'm being tongue in cheek...but I do believe they occasionally read fan boards and comments...here are my other suggestions: </div><div><br></div><div>- Sin-Eater: Recolor Union Jack combined with Captain America boots and a shotgun accessory. </div><div>- Carrion: Recolor Sleepwalker and Green Goblin parts with a new head. </div><div>- Spot: Easiest repaint of all-time. So easy, it's astounding it hasn't happened yet. Just take Zero and bingo. But ideally, spice him up with SOME kind of effect pieces. </div><div>- Vermin: Werewolf By Night with a new head and recolor. </div><div>- Man-Wolf (Classic): Take parts from the existing cosmic Man-Wolf and build from there. </div><div>- Boomerang (Classic): Really could be any basic male buck; the boomerang accessories already exist. Just needs two large ones for the chest and a new head. </div><div><br></div><div>Now, my most wanted as of right now is absolutely Swarm (Carrion being my second), but he'd have to be entirely new. The problem with that is not only does he need to be completely new, but I can't think of any other character that could reuse parts from him. And in this day and age, that really hurts his chances. The other question I always ask is...so do you go semi-translucent? And do you have the bees appearing as a deco or as pseudo-sculpted, which would give him a sort of bumpy appearance? The old Toybiz figure...and yes, believe it or not, he actually has an old pre-Legends figure...did semi-trans with sculpted texture, and honestly, I think it worked pretty well for the time it was released. I think an even better option today, though, would be to include some detachable effects pieces of clouds of bees flying off him. He's certainly a difficult character to capture in plastic form just by his very nature...but if done right? He could be one of the coolest and most unique figures ever. </div><div><br></div><div><img src="https://mikescollection.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/marv-swarm-full.jpg" alt="SWARM | mike's collection"></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

So the real victory with this Grizzly figure is...that he got made at all. Truth be told here, now having him in hand, I'm not 100% sold on him passing for "man in bear suit" vs. actual bear. The proportions are a little off, if you ask me. But two points of interest: 1. I think keeping the back "hump" piece off actually helps quite a bit in achieving a more believable "guy in a suit" look. 2. Realistically here... I don't even care that much. Ultimately, it's nothing but a nitpick. I'm just happy to have this guy. Period. I'm happy we're in a timeframe where these obscure but lovable losers can even get made. For a D-Grade villain, I don't exactly expect them to pull out all the stops anyway, so the repurposing of Ursa Major works for me. If that's what it takes to get this fourth stringer, I'm all for it. I mean, everyone has a Green Goblin, Venom, or Doc Ock. How many can say they have a Grizzly? Well, we can now. And I think that's something pretty amusingly special, so I can't really complain. Add to it, the accessories are charming. And with these big boy Spidey foe deluxe figures releasing (Grizzly and Lizard), I cannot help but feel like they'd miss out if they didn't deliver a Stegron in this format. He seems made for it. The only problem is, I think he'd have to be predominantly, if not entirely, new sculpting. But I'll say I'm in for every single third-rate villain you can give me. Nothing gets my blood pumping more than a figure announcement that makes me go, "I can't believe they're making that guy!" Truly an unexpected but incredibly fun release.

Now this is what I'm talking about! Technically a retool and repaint but with the alternate headsculpt I think it does the character more justice than the Ursa Major BAF. However, if you do have the Ursa Major figure in hand, I completely understand balking on this one as I understand having Frog-Man in lieu of having an actual Leap-Frog. I hope Hasbro is seeing this... :)
